One City Foundry

Raison d’être

The business case

  1. Future residentsThe final users of what we create are our future neighbours: the future residents. There is a large, global population of geographically mobile people and families. For example, entrepreneurs who own decentralised businesses of all sizes. But also digital nomads, self-employed or employed: their income is location independent
  2. CriteriaA relevant and significant part of this group has similar requirements for their place to live in:
    1. Safety
    2. Quality of life
    3. Reasonable taxation
    4. Good people around
    5. Legal access
  3. FragmentationThe combination of these five criteria with the individual preferences of any future neighbour means that the same city may work for one sub-group of future neighbours but not for another. Therefore, while there are hub cities with a high attraction capability, the market is actually extremely fragmented
  4. GovernanceSafety, taxation and legal access are controlled by the zone: the governance layer. Because many country governments can’t do this well, those who do it well win. For example, Hong Kong and Singapore won for decades. Dubai was the most recent winner. These are large cities, but there are also Tbilisi in Georgia, Chiang Mai in Thailand and Bali in Indonesia, which all won over their own segments of globally mobile new neighbours
  5. MomentumThere are new zones coming up. These will be zones of progress, which will attract the population mentioned in the first point
  6. CreationQuality of life and the quality of the community can be created. We believe we know how
  7. PartnershipTherefore we partner with new zones that are doing things right: creating safety, offering reasonable taxation and making immigration easy. In their zones, we create quality of life and attract communities
  8. MethodHow we do it is the recipe to our secret sauce
